Keynote Speaker, Jen Shirkani
Jen Shirkani has spent her 20-year career as a learning and development specialist, trainer andspeaker. Often requested for leadership and sales conferences, she provides insight into human dynamics in ahumorous and engaging way. Her topics often include Emotional Intelligence (a behavioral science) presentedfrom a leadership perspective filled with practical strategies and immediately useable tips. Jen has worked withover 70 organizations in a dozen industries. She holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership andspecializes in the Retail, Health Care, Insurance, and Senior Living industries.
Her corporate career includes learning and development roles at specialty retailer Nordstrom, SelectComfort (the Sleep Number Bed), and Bergen Brunswig (a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical distributor). She hasalso been certified in programs by Franklin Covey, Achieve Global, and the TRACOM Group and is accreditedby the Hay Group and by MHS to administer their Emotional Intelligence instruments.

Summary:
"Can they be developed?" This is often a dreaded question we've all faced as organizational leaders atone time or another when dealing with performance challenges. In this session, we will review the criteria fordetermining who would be a good coaching candidate, performance intervention and diagnosis strategies, andways to tap into the motivation drives of others. High feedback, management style, measurement, and culture. Keeping employees engaged today requires organizations to stay in tune with what is most important to the employees, including ways to creatively match performance measures with their motivation factors. Learn how to identify the key factors critical to employee engagement and the ways to uncover what really motivates your workforce.
Recent studies show that organizations must be aware of and actively pursue the engagement levels to attract and retain top talent. This session gives participants practical strategies to build into their HR and leadership practices.
